Dental Practice Management System
The brief
DentalX is a production SaaS platform for dental clinics that pairs a complete electronic health record with operational automation. Clinical depth includes interactive odontogram and periodontogram charting, a costed treatment catalog with commission tracking and fee schedules (membership, cash, and regional pricing with per-procedure variants), prescription workflows with allergy safety checks and branded print/PDF/email delivery, and a schedule-to-chart bridge for chairside efficiency. Ten AI features — including AI X-ray vision analysis — run on Vertex AI under a Google Cloud BAA and are admin-configurable per tenant. Operations run on a dense scheduling calendar with automated recalls, staged patient self-booking, and Google Calendar sync per clinic and doctor, with separate Email and WhatsApp messaging channels under per-clinic controls. The platform ships as an installable PWA with field-level encryption for patient data, MFA for platform staff, App Check, daily backups with point-in-time recovery, and a staging + production deploy pipeline.
The problem
A dental clinic runs on a dozen disconnected tools — charting, scheduling, treatment costing, recalls, patient messaging — and the handoffs between them are where time and revenue leak.
Our approach
We built DentalX as one clinic operating system: a tooth-by-tooth odontogram and periodontogram, a costed treatment catalog with fee schedules, denser scheduling with auto-recalls, self-booking and Calendar sync, per-channel patient messaging (email + WhatsApp), and ten admin-configurable AI features — including AI X-ray analysis — running on Vertex AI under a Cloud BAA.
The outcome
The product is feature-complete for selling with a mature ops posture — staging CD, daily Firestore backups with point-in-time recovery, field-level PHI encryption, App Check, and an MFA gate for platform staff — running as 82 Cloud Functions across staging and production.
